Correlation Coefficient

In statistics, a measure of the strength of a linear relationship between two variables ranging from -1 to +1. When the correlation coefficient r = 0, there is no relationship; when r is positive, the variables move together; when r is negative, the variables move in opposite directions. The closer to the extreme values, the stronger the relationship.
