The Risk & Insurance Research Academy began its University Associate (UA) Program to attract college students into the risk management and insurance industry. This unique program cultivates a capable future workforce and inspires a new generation of professionals who seek meaningful insurance and risk management careers.
The program has grown to include 32 colleges and universities across the country.

Students enrolled in the University Associate Program receive one of two industry-recognized designations from The Alliance.
These college-level designations were created to recognize new professionals for their diligent study and give them a distinct credential to use as they enter the insurance and risk management workforce.
University Associate Certified Insurance Counselor (UACIC)
For students interested in becoming insurance agency owners, producers, agents, customer service representatives, brokers, and insurance company personnel.
University Associate Certified Risk Manager (UACRM)
Open to students interested in Risk Management who want a broad understanding of risks and the many ways to identify, analyze, control, finance, and administer them.

University Associate Program participants are provided with a waiver to help ease costs and are only required to pay $100 for an exam while in school.
